What is Darllen?

Darllen (Welsh for "to read") is an interactive reading practice tool for Welsh learners. Browse curated passages with full annotations, or paste your own text for quick analysis.

Passages Mode

Browse passages → Filter by tier/subject → Click to open → Click any word for definition → Toggle translations/colors/mutations

Each passage has:

• Unique ID (P001, P002...) for easy reference
• Tier level indicating difficulty
• Subject tags describing content
• Full word-by-word annotations including mutation explanations

Tier Levels

Tier	Level	Description
Tier 1	Mynediad	Present tense, basic vocabulary
Tier 2	Sylfaen	Past/future, broader vocabulary
Tier 3	Canolradd	Mixed tenses, descriptive language
Tier 4	Uwch	Conditionals, passives, formal register

Reading Controls

• 💬 Cyfieithiadau — Show/hide English translations
